Image databases are becoming increasingly available, especially through the Web. These databases could include art prints, photos, animations, etc.

Audio and video databases are also becoming increasingly available, via the Web. These databases could include audio clips of sound effects and music samples or video excerpts from speeches, television shows, or other broadcast media.

For example:

WTVY Web Site
This site is produced by a South Florida television news channel and includes audio and video clips of local, national and international news stories.

Mixed-Format databases are those which combine two or more of the other database types. For example, a mixed-format database might contain both the full-text of articles and their accompanying illustrations.

For example:

Yahoo's Daily News
A news web site that provides full-text articles, audio broadcasts, video clips, and other formats of information.
